This month we will be making Fabric Post cards with members Lee and Julie. They each will be presenting a different technique.
Basic fabric postcard supplies:
Card stock cut to 5"x7"
Pelion 72F cut to 5"x7" (double sided fusible heavy weight interfacing)
Batting cut 5"x7"Fabric scraps - matching or not
Plain fabric for back - something light so you can write a message - size 4x6 if making one, 9X12 if making four
Lite Steam-A-Seam2 - one sheet - 9x12 or one-piece 4x6
Heavyweight interfacing like - Pellon 72F - Peltex II Ultra-Firm Two-Sided Fusible (one sided works too) Or Fast 2 Fuse Interfacing
Sakura Micron Pens - black - 02, 03, 05 - any of these sizes
Nice to have but not necessary:
Novelty prints - animals, flowers, people, etc. - size needs to fit on a 4x6 finished postcard
Ribbon, rickrack - matching or contrasting to fabrics you’ll use on fabric postcards
Monofilament thread - clear or smoky
Sakura Micron Pens - 02, 03, 05 - any of these sizes - colors you enjoy using
Pinking shears or pinking rotary cutter
General supplies, notions, equipment:
Cutting mat
Rotary cutter
Acrylic ruler(s) - 6x12, 6x6 - bring your favorite small one
Scissors - sewing, paper
Non-stick pressing or applique sheet - to protect your iron board - Teflon pressing sheet
Thread - color(s) to match or contract your scraps, dark - black or dark brown
Pins or sewing/quilting clips
Sewing machine - you won’t need this at the meeting if you just want to play around with designing the front of the postcard - you will need a machine to finish but that can be completed at home
