The guild currently supports two Community Outreach Programs

The Cove Center for Grieving Children is excited to host Camp Compassion, a free bereavement camp for children ages 6-17 that takes place at Club Getaway in Kent, CT. Camp Compassion provides a safe and therapeutic place for children to process the death of a loved one/significant person in the presence of supportive and caring trained clinicians & volunteers. Each year, campers are welcomed into their cabin and gifted a handmade quilt to bring them comfort and help make them feel right at home. The ability to provide every camper with a cozy and unique quilt to take home with them at the end of this experience is one of the many special things The Cove hopes to continue offering into the future. With the help of your community, our goal is to gather enough quilt donations for Camp Compassion 2024 so every child can leave with a special reminder of camp. Please help us spread the word and contact info@covect.org with any questions!
We are specifically looking for larger-sized quilts that are appropriate for teen boys. Patterns including sports, nature, and other appropriate colors/themes are welcomed.

Quilts for Foster Children is an ongoing project. This is great opportunity to donate any "spare" quilts you have or try a new pattern or technique and bust up your stash. This program serves very young children to teenagers in the State of Connecticut.
